The Pen and the Heart
My pen wanted to write
But my heart craved for it to be about you
All the little details you are
All the tiny little things that you do
That glimmer of light in your eyes
Shining behind those sweet, innocent smiles
Your cute little winks and those silly tricks you try
My pen wanted to describe
But my heart craved for it to be about you
Describe every feeling, every emotion you put me through
Your signature red rose after every good morning text
Staring at each other and laughing with no context
Coming up with cute little names and pulling each other's legs
All your insane promises, which somehow I know will be kept
My pen wanted to wonder
But my heart craved for it to be about you
Wonder how you understand all the tales told
How do they sit with you? How do they unfold?
In that tiny little head of yours, with the infinite creativity it holds
What makes you sad? What makes you happy? What makes you cringe? What do you find worthy?
Worthy of holding close, close to your heart
Cause I want to explore all the tiny hidden parts of you
My pen wanted to treasure
But my heart craved for it to be about you
Treasure your warmth within its ice-cold walls
The comfort of your words in those chaotic hours
Your dreams and ambitions and the future of ours
Everything planned, you're walking me down the path
This was not the plan, not how things were supposed to go
It's just been a few months, What did you do?
Not just my mind, but my heart and soul too
Everything was hijacked by one person, YOU
As I wondered, sitting in the blues
My pen began to realise
That my heart had already fallen in love with you
